Playing in the snow

My girls woke up this morning and wanted to go play in the snow. I thought I would give you all the play by play on how well that went.

8:34 Decide to go play in the snow.

8:35 Begin to put on snow pants, coats, hats, gloves and boots.

8:47 Finish putting on snow clothes.

8:48 The girls go outside.

8:50 Ava takes off her gloves.

8:51 Ava comes in to put her gloves back on.

8:52 Ava decides she doesn't want her gloves on.

8:54 Ava reconsiders her decision and wants her gloves back on.

8:55 Grace's gloves are bugging her and she wants different ones. I go inside and find baby gloves put them on her and send her back outside.

8:57 Both girls come inside and ask for hot chocolate.

9:13 Finish removing snow clothing and making hot chocolate.

9:15 Both girls say, "Mom playing in the snow is way fun."

This is going to go on my list of top five reasons I don't like winter.

Fortunately my kids are still little enough that I can convince them that the snow is too cold to play it. That is until Tanner comes home and wants to take them outside.

That is exactly what I go through everytime! Get a 4 wheeler, and pull the kids around behind it, and that buys you about 10 more minutes :D! It is all worth it though for the hot chocolate. Is there anything better in the world than to be cold and then drink hot chocolate stirred with a candy cane and topped with whipped cream? I think I'll just go make me some right now! I sure do love keeping up with you and your cute family. I wish I was there to see just how big your girls are getting.

Hooray for someone else thinking that playing outside in the snow with the kids absolutely stinks. It takes way longer just to get all the snow crap ON than it does to go out and play. Because, quite frankly, who wants to play in the snow once your hands are wet and freezing...and that takes all of 2.5 seconds!! I sound like a grinch, don't I?

Whenever it snow's I cringe knowing that my kids are going to want to go and play in the snow. This translates to WORK WORK and more WORK for me. Nothing is better the freezing my booty off while watching my kids play for 2 seconds, getting cold hands, crying, someone throws a snowball, the receiver of the ball whales, and screams at me because I somehow let the QB throw it. What ever. Yeah for snow, and yeah for kids! I will have to say though that I can make a mean cup of hot cocoa for a crowd of crying kids to settle them down, and make playing in the snow the BEST experience ever!?!

That is soo typical/funny/annoying! We went through that last year! This year, Brady taught Tessa that snow is edible. Now she just sits and eats it off the porch steps, no assembly required.

Ahhh, my little Ava. She makes my day. But I am suprised there wasn't a barfing or potty fiasco during the event...
