Our house

Ok Monica. I am giving you what you asked for. Here are a few pics of our home addition. I am not a professiona photographer so some of them do not do all of Brett's hard work justice.

This is our eating area, but the table is just for looks. We usually just sit at the bar.

In case the vacuum marks weren't a dead give away, this is the front room.

This is the staircase that completely blew our budget. Originally we thought the staircase would be surrounded by walls, but with some alder and metal, a little re-engineering ($) some extra framing ($$) and a specialized carpenter ($$$) the center piece of our home was born. Both Brett and I think it was well worth it.

This is the girls stage. (No I do not dance/sing on it. Not even once. EVER. Ok just showtunes. The girls love to play primary on it. It's so cute to see them play opening exercises.

The entry way. I will post more pictures when I figure out what lighting I need. (not late afternoon)

Quick Post

Just a few quick pictures.Look at that big goofy grin! This is not the best picture of Carter, but it is one of the few that I have taken of him. New years resolution number one: more picture taking.

I did not pose or dress them. This is Ava's best friend Macey. The first words I hear every morning are: Can I go get Macey? Really how can I say no.

What a sweet baby to fall asleep during a very high intensity Polly pocket fight. I think he learned from his dad and is just pretending.

Ava does the cutest thing with her fingers and blankie to fall to sleep. It is very specific and she will show you exactly how to find a good spot so you can go to sleep.

2009 was a great year for the Barkdulls. Here's hoping for a happy 2010

One of my best friends from highschool and her husband have been told that it is highly unlikely that they will be able to get pregnant. I know that this has brought my friend a lot of pain, but she and her husband have decided to adopt. I know that she will be a wonderful mother. She has so much love to give and the baby that finds its way into her home will cetainly be a very lucky one. All right, so I decided to do more than just change my blog

background. This is what we have been up to lately:We caught a bat at my parent's house. Actually my dad did. The girls and I watched from a safe distance inside.

The girls made "cow soup" at our house. I am not sure what that is, but I am sure I do not want to eat it and I bet that cows don't want to.
See, it's YUMMY!!!!

The girls were mini cheerleaders at Brett and I's alma mater.

Our house got framed. Yeah we have a roof now!!!!!!!

I got made at the HVAC guys. I mean really why would you put that duct work right there?

Brett and his dad finished LOTOJA for the second time.
Grace got another visit from the tooth fairy. This time it was a red fairy that left $1 in nickels and dimes. (Hey you lose your tooth on a Sunday night and your lucky to get anything).

I know what to get somebody for Christmas!!!
